Are you looking at the market, interest rates, and/or inventory and breaking into a cold sweat?
Maybe you’re on the floor in a fetal position waiting for a past client to tell you they got a deal they want to send to you.
Maybe you’re looking at all the stuff your competitors are doing on social media and buying into some story about how well they seem to be doing.
Maybe you’re thinking… the market is bad, there’s no new business to get, today is terrible.
All of these thoughts are just thoughts, negative ones, and they’re not serving you well.
Snap out of it.
Yes, it’s more difficult out there than it has been for the last two years. But it's not impossible.
Most will roll over and submit to the market, saying things like, “It's too hard… I haven't had to work this much for a long time,” or they'll commiserate with others (namely clients) and talk about how hard the market is.
This brings to mind the famous Henry Ford quote: “Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right.”
For example…
If you think the market is hard, you’re right.
If you think you can't get new clients, you’re right.
If you think you’re going to make less money in 2023, you’re right.
Your belief is incredibly powerful, and I encourage you to change you’re thinking…
If you think the market has opportunities for you, you’re right.
If you think you can get new clients this week, you’re right.
If you think you can make more money in 2023, (you guessed it!) you’re right.
